Job Summary
Contract with potential to convert to full time. Functions in a graphics fiber production engineering technician capacity. Under close supervision, performs basic functions requiring technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverable. Evaluates methods used to accomplish the drafting and/or design activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Role will be responsible for drafting/design for wireline (OSP/Fiber) Telecom projects.
• Develop or modify deliverables based on rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or detailed verbal instructions.
• Develops necessary views, sections and details with supervision.
• Learn and understand project and Company standards and procedures.
• Performs minor computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, etc, as assigned.
• May learn new programs or processes required for assignments.
• Continuously evaluates methods used to accomplish the activities they have been assigned.
• If this evaluation indicates that a process can be simplified, without sacrificing the integrity of the outcome, it should be discussed with the supervisor for possible implementation.
• Ensures that the deliverables and tasks that they work on are complete and meet Black & Veatch's QA requirements.
• Ensures that the deliverables are compliant with sketches, marked copies and written or verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Prefer a minimum of 2+ years related drafting/design work experience.
ARAMIS experience highly preferred
Prefer experience/knowledge in one or more of the following:
Civil 3D and/or Revit
Wireline (Fiber / OSP drafting)
Wireless Drafting
Experience with drafting/design in multiple software programs (school, internship, and/or work)
Preferred Technical Competencies:
• Intermediate knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications or design or modeling skills.
• Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures.
• Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
• Basic knowledge of company quality program
• Basic ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
