Description:
This person will report directly to the North american controller for this organization and handle all of the month to month accounting related functions for their plant here in Michigan. They will work with the various plant personnel , plant manager and materials manager to track cost monthly and prepare the proper journal entries around these costs. This person will be handling all of the month end reconciliations ensuring accuracy for reporting, and using that information to track actuals versus what was budgeted. They will work with the controller on maintaining a 3 to 4 day month end close process. They will also work with the manufacturing teams, tracking internal costing and reporting KPIs. Most of their work will be done in PLEX, and also Excel. Other main responsibilities: • Team with the Controller in accomplishing the requirements as set by Management, which include accurate and timely reporting, compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory matters. • Analyze data to prepare monthly closing reports and journal entries. Review actual performance versus measurement points (prior month, budget, and forecast) and explain results. • Manage and coordinate monthly account reconciliations. • Labor Analysis - Work in cadence with the operations team to monitor the hourly cost in relationship to measurements points (budget, forecast, etc.). • Non-production purchase - Utilizing the various tools (Plex requisition, I/C charges) that establishes the authorization to purchase items to monitor the spending to measurement points (budget, forecast, etc.). • Freight Analysis - Segregate the actual monthly freight payments to the period when incurred and update other data points (expected freight, etc.) to monitor the total activity for a month. • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and ad hoc reports.

This person must have a bachelors degree in accounting, and also experience working in the manufacturing industry. Any experience with PLEX or similar ERP system is also a must.
