Michigan Paving / Stoneco seeks a candidate looking to hit the ground running for new Sales Representative opportunity. This position will be responsible for aggregate sales in the west and southwest Michigan territory. Great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of an in-demand industry while working for a growing company with lots of room for advancement.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Become expert on all aspects of the aggregate industry, including operations, quality control and logistics and stay up to date on emerging trends
Utilize understanding of aggregate role in related industries, such as asphalt and ready mix concrete, to increase sales base.
Understand the asphalt business as it pertains to our customers who purchase and lay asphalt from our production plants
Gain a basic understanding of the emulsion business in MI with basic support for customers seeking to purchase emulsion products from our oil terminals.
Develop and continually grow relationship with customers, through phone, electronic and face to face communication
Provide customers with material quotes and record orders in tracking system
Track sales and report to management on progress and future orders
Participate in industry organizations and attend tradeshows to promote MPM/Stoneco
Assist supervisor and co-workers with additional assignments as required
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Company employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate with employees, customers and vendors at all organizational levels.
Ability to be work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications & CRM (Salesforce.com).
Strong negotiating, analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.

Education and Experience
Bachelors in marketing/business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Entry level to two years experience in sales/marketing.
Previous experience in construction sales preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be willing to travel, throughout southwest Michigan territory- some overnight and out of state travel required
Occasional night/weekend work required
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
