Overview
OVERVIEW
Holcim (US) Inc., the largest manufacturer and distributor of cement and related construction materials currently has an immediate opening for a Material Handler position for its manufacturing facility located in Alpena, MI.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Properly receive, unload and store alternative materials while respecting safety and quality standards
Responsible for accurate analysis, evaluation, handling and tracking of materials received at the pre-processing platform
Ensure all appropriate material testing, monitoring and inspections are performed (shift, daily, weekly, monthly, etc...) and documented as required
Perform CSR (Customer Service) functions as required; schedule deliveries with transporters or generators
Utilize SAP and WFMS for PQ set up, material approvals, load scheduling, daily receipts, billing, purchase requisitions; assist with billing inquiries and issues and 3 rd party transactions
Ensure timely reporting and correction of co-processing and maintenance issues. Notify Facility Supervisor of any downtime (Via text, call, or Radio)
Assist in repairs (Guards, breakdowns, etc....) as needed
Provide support to alternative materials testing, receiving, monitoring and co-processing
Assist in cement plant work as required.
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
Adhere to all safety and environmental procedures and policies to ensure compliance and a safe workplace.
Follow all Safety rules, work instructions and procedures. Maintain adherence to AFR policy, A-Cert, ISO, and MSHA certifications. Ensure compliance with permitted and internal requirements at all times
Ensure all mobile equipment safety inspections are performed prior to equipment use. Ensure all appropriate safety inspections are completed and documented
Maintain a high housekeeping standard around the alternative material storing and co-processing areas

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
Additional Education Preferred: Associate's degree.
Required Work Experience: 1 year minimum knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment, not necessarily cement related.
Required Computer and Software Skills :
Knowledge of Excel
Word
SAP a plus

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
