We manufacture Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and final assemblies for the global electronics market. Our PCBAs are used in many applications, including medical devices, automotive and industrial.
We currently have an opening for SMT Department Engineer in our Process Engineering Department of our Otsego, MI location.
Job Summary:
Experienced enthusiastic data driven individual to take ownership for continuous improvement of quality, process control and productivity to the entire manufacturing SMT process.
Responsibilities to include:
- Identifying and implementing metrics that drive continuous improvement within SMT line processes.
- Understand and document potential process failure modes (PFMEA) and implementing solutions.
- Develop and execute DOEs (design of experiments) to determine capabilities of processes and equipment.
- Create, monitor and improve process controls.
- Work with manufacturing to implement LEAN principles in reducing waste.
- Investigating latest technologies to improve processes.
- Develop and perform validation plans for new assemblies and equipment.
- Apply the requirements of IPC-A-610 standard (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
- Support assembly supervisors and operators in the resolution of issues.
- Serve as cross-functional team member on new projects and proto-types.
- Train operators
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving machine errors.
- Provide off-shift support via phone or on-site as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications and Character Traits:
· Knowledge of printed circuit boards and electronic component packages
· Bachelor’s degree in related field.
· IPC-A-610 Certification (training to be provided as needed)
· Understand SPC controls.
· Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Detail oriented person who is driven by continuous improvement.
· Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
