Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team in Holland. We are looking for different levels of experienced Supplier Development Engineers to fill multiple openings.
As aSupplier Development Engineer, you will:
Establish, implement, and monitor quality activities necessary to support defect-free launch of new products and/or services for supplied product. Monitor Quality Operating System (QOS) metrics and leverage learned expertise to identify and manage projects to meet or exceed same. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including vendors, to achieve metrics.
Job Responsibilities
Works with new suppliers to help ensure they are capable of meeting Haworth requirements. Participates in equipment qualifications as required. May require travel to supplier sites.
Evaluates products against known quality standards. Helps establish lessons learned for suppliers.
Assists with monitoring supplier performance against established standards.
Participates as a team member in the evaluation of suppliers and works with suppliers to develop improvement plans, W3I's, etc.
Participates in communications with supplier to address performance issues. Manages closure of corrective actions.
Works with suppliers to improve chronic quality issues.
Reviews and identifies potential improvement opportunities with Haworth Suppliers.
Maintains supplier development plans for suppliers incorporating feedback from multiples sources within Haworth. Participates in activities to improve supplier performance.
Help enters PPAP data. Monitors SN and CoPQ related to Haworth suppliers to identify potential issues. Participates in activities to improve performance.
Helps develop and participate in projects related to supplier impact on CoPQ and SN occurrence.
May assist with assembly and installation of tooling and equipment, using power and hand tools. Lifts and moves parts weighing up to 70 pounds.
Do you have these required qualifications?
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. In lieu of degree, you must have 2years of relevant experience for every year of schooling not complete.
Supplier Development Engineer I requires: Minimum 3 years quality/engineering experience.
Higher levels of Supplier Development Engineer require 6 or moreyears of quality/engineering experience.
Ability to travel overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally, up to 20%of time.
Current and continuing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Ability to work and commute onsite daily to our headquarters in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.

American Society of Quality Control Certified CQE (Certified Quality Engineer)
CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) certificate
Ability to work independently on projects assigned.
Leadership and mentoring skills.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to climb/bend/balance in manufacturing environment; ability to lift/move material weighing up to 70 pounds.
