Quality Engineer (full-time, one position)
THK Rhythm Automotive seeks in Portland, MI for product quality, process quality, and effective quality systems to ensure and improve delivery of defect-free material to customers. Prepare and submit PPAP documents according to customer requirements. Lead and maintain effective formal launch reviews to include operational readiness, training, material/logistics management, production metrics, and customer interface management. Assist launch teams in conducting APQP activities to ensure timely PPAP completion. Function as IATF 16949 Lead Auditor for plant. Coordinate and lead quality system audits to determine compliance to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards. Maintain proper documentation to demonstrate compliance with IATF 16949 specification. Lead customer quality audits. Ensure manufacturing quality systems are implemented, maintained, continuously reviewed, and improved. Lead corrective actions related to deficiencies in quality management systems. Develop and implement process controls and develop/maintain process control plans. Establish parameters and conduct process capability studies on new and existing machines and processes. Manage mistake-proof devices throughout plant to ensure proper control and perform regular mistake-proof assessments for plant. Review and update procedures, work instructions, acceptance standards, and control plans. Analyze and prepare reports on machine and process capability, Gage R&R, and SPC. Manage statistical aspects for plant (capability studies and SPC). Must have Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus three years quality engineering experience. One of the three years must include experience with TS16949/IATF16949 and PPAP. All experience may be acquired concurrently.
