About this Opportunity
As an Application Design Specialist, you'll create holistic product solutions for global workplace needs by influencing the direction of product and service development with insights from a planning, interior design, and architecture point of view. You will inspire all audiences and planning channels with new ways of thinking by uniquely framing the problem/situation and showing connection to new ideas.
What You'll Do
You'll have opportunities to speak up, solve problems, lead others, and be an owner every day as you... * Develop differentiating design applications of Herman Miller solutions. * Drive optimal client value-add and value-engineered solutions. * Articulate applications within CET Designer CAD Pack, Sketch-Up, and other tools as applicable to support various product application needs. * Build and maintain a broad application library that feeds strategic digital tools for the field based teams * Assist in creating a ldeveloping and reviewing specification information and applications guidance for targeted RFPs and projects. * Coach and apply creative problem-solving skills in a team setting to differentiate with Herman Miller solutions. * Assist in optimizing digital design and specification tools * Assist in the development of product marketing materials (i.e., planning guide, applications guide, and brochure). * Assists in equipping and training the field on digital design tools * Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Sound Like You?
You might be just who we're looking for if you have... * A Bachelor's degree in Interior/Architectural/Facility Design from an accredited program, or another relevant academic discipline. * Four years of industry experience with a furniture manufacturer or dealer. * Proficiency with AutoCAD, CET and furniture specification software. Experience with Sketch-Up is preferred. * The ability to use the office automation, communication, software, and tools used in the Herman Miller office environment. * Experience with project management (preferred). * Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. * The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully coordinate efforts of internal/external resources. * A basic understanding of the sales process. * The ability to work and collaborate with others to develop enriched solutions. * The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
