Relief After Violent Encounter – Ionia/Montcalm, Inc. is looking for a second shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) and third shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am) workers to provide the delivery of quality residential services to adult and child survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence who are residing in our safe house.
Responsibilities include responding to our 24-hour crisis line for domestic violence and sexual assault victims, provides crisis intervention to include empathy, support, information, and referral services. Maintain the safety and security of the shelter building and residents during peak times of activity within the shelter. Facilitate and encourage activity and communication between residents, which promote a warm, welcoming and collaborative environment within the shelter. Assist and facilitate goal establishment and accomplishment with clients. Complete intake and exit forms and screening and assessment procedures with empathetic and active listening. Complete all record keeping requirements including documentation of observations and units of service provided. Provide crisis intervention and prevention by building rapport with residents and interacting in a caring, consistent, empowering manner as outlined in the program philosophy. Provide knowledge and information to residents about the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault and its impact on victims, survivors, children, and communities. Provides information and referral services to all residents regarding RAVE's services and other community resources and agencies. Maintain the order and cleanliness of the safe house facility through supervision of clients and general household management. Monitor and perform safety and security and maintenance policies and procedures. Assist clients with accessing community-based services through information, referral, advocacy with housing, medical, transportation, and legal needs and facilitate house meetings on a daily basis to discuss communal living issues and promote the empowerment of women.
