Job Summary:
Provides maintenance services for work orders that are provided by the maintenance supervisor or as needed. Assists in a wide variety of maintenance activities and addressing immediate operational or safety concerns. Provides support for skilled trades in completing projects. Ensures that tools, materials, and vehicles are maintained in good working order and necessary items are available at job sites.
Essential Job Functions
· Performs installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of electrical systems (hoist, welder equipment, lighting, circuit breaker panels, etc.). Requires knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical schematics.
· Ability to assist and repair HVAC systems and other refrigerator or ventilation systems.
· Repair and maintain plumbing, drain fields, and other related systems and equipment.
· Repair and maintain a variety of other equipment like air compressors, lift stations, power washers, etc.
· Prepare, prime and paint building interior and exterior surfaces.
· Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, and controllers.
· Perform general upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of the yard (shovel, plow and salt parking lots and roads, move furniture, clean restrooms, haul trash, landscaping, carpentry, etc.).
· Provide support to skilled trade workers on projects to ensure safe and efficient completion of projects.
· Responds to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
· Maintain and repair ship vehicles like fork trucks.
· Build push sticks, crate parts, and build ship out containers and pallets.
· Provide setup and tear down of various materials used during meetings and other functions.
· Participate in ongoing technical, safety and operational process training programs.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Maintains tools, equipment, and supplies in maintenance vehicles to respond properly to work orders and other requests.
· Possess computer skills to receive and close out work orders and complete end of shift reports.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and use buddy system or equipment for heavier weights.
· Employee is required to climb, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch and bend.
· Must have good vision and hearing and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
· While performing the duties of this job, employees occasionally work near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions.
· Employees are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals.
· Noise level in the work environment is usually high.
Required Skills
· 2 or more years of experience preferred.
· Electrical experience required.
· High School Diploma preferred, but not required.
· Additional certifications related to maintenance of equipment is preferred, but not required.
