Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer
Responsible for production support engineering with respect to product development and process development. Assists in directing, coordinating, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects, within the area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and maintain engineering and production documentation and procedures. This may include: CAD drawings (2D, AutoCAD and 3D, Solidworks), Work Instructions, Control Plans, ect.
Should have knowledge of pneumatic and electrical systems.
Evaluates and submitts part / packaging design changes, specifications, and drawing releases for related items.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
Meets with project team to review goals and objectives.
Must be able to perform first piece Inspection on finished parts to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
Participate in developing material requirements and labor requirements in the quoting process for new products.
Assist in reviewing new product designs for manufacturability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Continued):
Participates in building prototypes of new products.
Assist in specifying materials and hardware for new products.
Work side by side with production on the first few production runs of new products until rates can be met.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and safety methods.
Responsible for development, purchasing, adding, removing, and maintenance of tooling or fixtures required for the daily production involving the CNC area and other miscellaneous manufacturing requirements.
Work with Engineering Manager in developing and achieving divisional objectives.
Create fully dimensioned tooling/fixture drawings as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university; or three to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific, technical and professional journals, financial reports, legal documents, correspondence, memos, general business periodicals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and other employees of the organization. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as margins, proportions, fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to use computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word, and AutoCAD.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be capable of utilizing software in day-to-day communications. Familiarity with computer software as pertains to the product, and detailed knowledge of the overall manufacturing process, including its capabilities and limitations.
