The Youth Advocate will be responsible for organizing and implementing special activities for children and their non-offending parent(s) residentially and non-residentially which promotes good mental and physical health to youth victims of domestic and sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking in the River House four-county service area (Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Roscommon).
Attend and facilitate group meetings and presentations in the community with community coordinating councils.
Associates in Child Development or equivalent work experience preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to relate to individuals in crisis. Must be able to understand and easily relate to people and show empathy to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking. Proficiency in computers, phones, technology, and database programs. Use of personal vehicle/reliable transportation is required along with current Michigan driver’s license and valid car insurance.
