DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The BI Analyst willprovide company wide strategic, analytical and technical support for businessintelligence (BI) activities. The BI analyst acts as an intermediary between the business communityand the technical community working with IT project teams and business clientsto collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation andconceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which BIapplications and solutions are developed. The BI analyst is also heavilyinvolved with the distribution and successful delivery of all BI reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Partners with stakeholders, process specialists, and users to elicit and document business requirements; translates non-technical requirements into technical business requirements.
•Partners with business departmental teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports
Teach, tailor, and assert influence during interactions with business partners and relationship-building.
•Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
•Designs, develops and maintains reports and analytical tools.
•Evaluates alternate solutions and design processes and systems which includes: user impact considerations, cost and benefit analysis and processing specifications.
•Uses current knowledge of business and technology to recommend systems and process improvements.
•Performs ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports and BI solutions.
•Partners with architecture and solution delivery teams to enable BI applications that have long-term value.
•Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and works with customers to uncover unmet business needs.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent Engineering or Business Degree.
•1+ years of experience working in the appropriate business process with a good understanding of the business / systems concepts.
•Experience in business process analysis, standardization and optimization.Experience with tools like Lean Manufacturing, TMS, and Six Sigma a plus.
•Experience working with the relevant systems (e.g. SAP), experience with project methodology including planning, testing and documentation standards.
•Experience providing technical and functional training courses.
•Strong working knowledge of Business processes and data warehouse lifecycle.
•Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
•Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment and initiative
•Professional image with ability to form good partner relationships across functions
•Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes
•Ability to work with others in remote (foreign country) locations in different time zones.
•Capable of applying a comprehensive requirement elicitation process and track those requirements all the way through the development and testing processes.
•Proven skills in Excel / Word / PowerPoint / MS Project.
•Technical skills with MS SQL Server, Business Objects, and PowerBI
•Ability to establish good business relations at different levels in a virtual organization.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
•Additional basic knowledge in one other language German, French or Spanish is preferred in some regions.
•Ability to travel - on average 25%.
