Research Assistant, OVPR

Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Population Health Outcomes and Information Exchange (PHOENIX) Principal Investigator, provide data management and analytic support to complete research, evaluation, and public health surveillance projects.
Essential Functions:
Data Management- identify, ingest, transform, and merge data using appropriate tools and software (e.g., SQL, SAS/R software).
Data Analysis- Perform power calculations, create graphs/figures/tables, calculate univariable and bivariable test statistics, and develop multivariable regression models for cross sectional and longitudinal data.
Assist Investigators and/or Supervisor with summarizing/organizing data to be used in preparing and presenting presentations for professional, scientific, and academic conferences and submittal to academic and scholarly peer-reviewed journals.
Maintain the work areas. Order and organize required supplies and records. Maintain cleanliness
and organization of workstation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field of study, preferred
Experience:
Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer Skills - Must have SQL programming skills; python coding abilities are also preferred. Must be proficient in the use of SAS, R, or to a lesser extent STATA for purposes of data management. Ability to work
independently is critical. Microsoft office software skills.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret research findings and data in reports and spreadsheets and communicate results.
Integrity:
Knowledge of scientific integrity principles.
Time Management and Organizational Skills:
Excellent time management and organization skills.
Interpersonal/Communication/Teamwork
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with others in a
