SMX is seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Consultant with AWS solutions architecture expertise and a passion for problem solving, envisioning solutions and systematic execution - with the ability to rapidly learn new technologies independently and communicate their impact to enterprises.
SMX is seeking a Principal Cloud Consultant, in this role you will provide SME level advisory for clients and account growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable conversing with senior client business and technical leaders, including C Suite, Vice Presidents, Directors, and technical staff. In this role, you will align cloud technology solutions to solve client business challenges and goals. The Principal Cloud Consultant develops relationships with key clients and acts as a trusted advisor. They are able to think big, focused on strategic business outcomes, while also able to dive deep on technical solutioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support delivery of enterprise-wide transformation programs
Lead consulting and planning efforts through the initial phases of large-scale migrations; specifically: business case, cloud strategy, organization change management, governance strategy, roadmap development, and application portfolio rationalization
Participate in customer advisory and capture activities including workshops, client presentations, and proposal development
Collaborate with a variety of product and business owners to help understand business requirements and provide guidance on solution architecture/approaches.
Define reference architectures and help build guidance around those architectures' best practices and usage recommendations
Provide SME support for technology implementations (e.g. Networking, Security, Data Services, Cloud Best Practice Configurations, and Governance controls)
Provides input to technology investments at many different levels in the organization
Support the development of account plans to build long-term relationships with customers and identify new opportunities
Support pre-sales business capture and development functions
Required Skills:
Ability and experience leading multi-stream cloud transformation programs and initiatives for mid and large-scale organization in all the following areas: quantifying the business value of cloud, evaluating the organizational impact of cloud adoption, defining cloud architectural principles, and articulating key security considerations for public cloud moves
Experience designing, migrating and delivering highly complex cloud solutions, balancing costs, security, and risk with stated business objectives
Experience with modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration
Experience in cloud infrastructure, development, and operations
Strong technical writing and proposal development skills required
Be willing to learn, collaborate, contribute and improve
Ability to prioritize tasking, adapt and self-motivate
Be ready to roll up your sleeves
Achieve and maintain Public Cloud Professional level certifications (e.g. AWS SA Professional, AWS Development Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and Google Cloud Architect)
Required Experience:
15+ years of broad IT and Cloud technical experience
Hands on Solutions Architecture experience required
Big4 or equivalent consulting experience highly desired
MBA preferred
The ability to obtain a US Government security clearance preferred or clearable
Government client experience including classified environment and ATO support
Proven ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner
Well-versed with current trends in cloud computing technologies
