Overview
OVERVIEW
Performs predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on all chemical and physical laboratory equipment to ensure the performance of control and measurement devices. Calibration of the devices is required according to ASTM and AASHTO standards. Program and integrate analyzers into the plant operations for quality control and reporting of data.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Practice and promote safety insuch a wayas including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform service, repair, and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Installation of new lab equipment from conception to operation. Assure integration of programming new systems into plant operations.
Provide guidance, training and support to quality technicians.
Use SAP to organize the maintenance and parts of the laboratory devices.
Perform hardware and software maintenance on lab computers not affiliated with the Holcim network.
Assist specialists with their maintenance support in person and remotely.
Responsible in the development and updating of the company Technical Information System (TIS).
Ability to work overtime as required for maintenance of critical equipment for plant operations.
Work under general/minimal supervision; customarily works 40% of the time without direct supervision.
Other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS
Work with Quality Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues with analysis and transfer of data to maintain quality control.
Assist the Process department with data collection and reporting through the TIS database.
Work with suppliers to maintain the equipment to reduce downtime.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical/Instrumentation
Required Work Experience: 3+ years
Required Training/Certifications: Mine Safety and Health Administration Certificate (MSHA) or the ability to obtain in 6 months through Holcim training
Required Computer and Software Skills : Knowledge of computers, databases and programming
Travel Requirements : Less than 5%

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
Availability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
This position requires as an essential function:
Reliability
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs, climb stairs and access heights.
Ability to work in an industrial environment that may include dust, heat, loud noise, etc.
Dependable attendance.
Experience working in cement, mining, steel or similar industries is desirable
