Responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating Medical Center Patient Services. Working through subordinate department directors, provides administrative oversight and direction to the following functions: Surgical Services, Med/Surg, Emergency, Psych, CCU, Obstetrics, Infection Control, Home Care, Pharmacy, Clinical Quality, QRM, and Education. In doing so, establishes nursing objectives and the organizational structure for achieving established objectives. A high level of interpersonal skills is necessary in order to deal effectively in delicate, sensitive and/or complex situations with a variety of influential internal and external personnel and make presentations before groups, including regulatory agencies. A high level of problem solving skills as well as analytical skills necessary in order to develop and implement management systems, techniques and procedures, direct the management of the Medical Center resources, direct the preparation of special reports and analysis, and determine Medical Center needs such as capital equipment, personnel and the like.
Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Hospital Administration or equivalent
Experience - 7 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in Experience with a healthcare organization 5 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in Supervisory/managerial experience with a healthcare organization
