Title: CNC Machinist Setup Operator Reports To: Production Supervisor
Basic Job Description: Set up, program and operate a variety of CNC machine tools. Assist in design, selection and build of manufacturing fixtures and machine cutting tools. Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketch, or description of part to be replaced, and plan sequence of operations.
Duties & Tasks
Set up & run CNC vertical and horizontal mills and lathes, along with manual style bridge port machining centers.
- Strong knowledge of Mazak and Fadal machining centers
- Knowledge of metal forming.
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D CNC programming
- Good Communicator
- Knowledge of good machine maintenance practices
- High School education.
- Journeyman machinist card
- Excellent print reading skills
- Familiar with GD&T tolerances as listed on manufacturing prints and interpreting same.
- (8) Years’ experience in a machine shop environment working as a CNC programmer and machinist.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 operating practices
- Additional duties as assigned
