About this Opportunity
Responsible for leading the prioritized execution of DID Collaborative projects that supports advancing an agenda that elevates DID and its objectives of diversifies the design industry, while also maximizing synergies of the DID Collaborative. Partner to enable actionable plans that are a catalyst for change and driving results. The specialist will integrate programmatic solutions and enable strategies that elevate the impact of DID and is responsible for owning priorities that advance the work of DID committees, by providing support to DID Committee Chairs. The role will also engage with contacts who are part of the committee chairs extended teams and manage cross-communication tactics. The Project Specialist will prepare projected budgetary needs, identify, and manage the trade-off decisions, and provide a direct link between vision and implementation.

Serves as a member of an assigned DID Collaborative committee and supports the vision, objectives, and initiatives of committee leadership (Committee Co-Chairs).
On behalf of the DID Committee Chairs, responds to committee assignments, monitors key projects, reviews progress and deliverables, and manages timelines for specified DID program initiatives.
Ensures the flawless integration of new initiatives; may lead large projects such as developing mentoring aligned to DID committee work, bringing alive the vision of committees related to brand positioning, lead liaison work across defined stakeholders, and own targeted program management focus areas.
Conducts group research and data collection related to Diversity in Design, and Black Designer populations; analyzes and synthesizes organizational and institutional insights and leverages findings to develop thought leadership positions which enable the achievement of DID objectives.
Works with partners to develop and execute strategies and plans.
Determines the outreach approach for DID committee specified priorities, identifies best practices, and recommends appropriate initiatives and partnerships which inform the committees' ability to drive tangible outcomes.
Works in collaboration with the Communications Specialist, the Market and Engagement PM and other DID Committee cohort specialists to seamlessly integrate and embed plans.
Works with the committee to ensure appropriate tools and resources are available for DID.

Associate's Degree Years preferred not required.
An understanding of business functions and their roles in driving results.
Demonstrated ability in project management.
Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures and processes in a logical sequence; at a level appropriate to the audience and resulting in effective working relationships.
Must be an assertive, self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent Herman Miller in a professional manner in order to gain a high level of confidence from a diverse group of customers.
Strong analytical, organization, time management and process management skills for success in a results-oriented environment.
