Temporary Hospital Study Supervisor

Xenex Disinfection Services is looking for Full-Time Temporary Supervisors linked with a study in Detroit, Michigan to help further Xenex's competitive edge by continuing our mission to save lives and reduce suffering caused by hospital acquired infections (HAIs). Xenex's patented room disinfection system reduces the bacterial load that is often associated with an increased risk for HAIs. We are looking for candidates who are experienced hospital workers, that have management, supervisor or leadership experience in the support services area and who are looking to make a difference in the healthcare industry and to give their all in this role. The role will entail conducting critical government research within a hospital utilizing cutting edge disinfection technology. Looking to hire immediately through the end of the year 2019.
Directly supervises robot operators while also actively performing daily robot disinfection tasks for patient, operating, procedure and ancillary rooms, nursing station, restrooms, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of Xenex within the hospital. Supervisory expectations include but are not limited to: ensuring goals and deadlines are on schedule and understood by all staff, assisting with the scheduling, monitoring employee performance and productivity, maintaining timecards, and ensuring hospital compliance. The UVC Disinfection Services Department performs daily duties in accordance with facility and Xenex standards and objectives. Perform work in accordance with safe standards and practices.
•Ensure weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual goals and deadlines are on schedule and understood by all operators.
•Ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
•Work with RAM to set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision and communicate them to operators. Monitor employee productivity and provides input to RAM for discussion. Relay any complaints to RAM for resolution.
•Review and approve timecards for operators.
•Report to work 10 min prior to scheduled time, sign in to work, read communication log to receive department and hospital daily updates. Obtain keys, pager and review bed tracking, what rooms are unoccupied. Communicate with Lead on rooms needed to be disinfected and take assigned robot and head to the floor. Make sure robot is fully charged and functional.
•All employees must comply with Occupational Safety & Health standards and regulations established by OSHA as well as state & local regulations.
•Perform all UV-C Disinfection Service related tasks demonstrating outstanding service orientation to fellow employees, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
•Perform robot operating procedures in assigned areas in conjunction with Robot Operators and Housekeeping staff following a discharge or transferred patient.
•Follow room guide for device placement protocol.
•Plug in the robot, be sure to avoid plugging into a GFCI outlets, use on/off switch to turn on and off.
•Safety feature, place "orange remote cone" outside door, place yellow caution sign on door. Place tethered motion detector in sight of door from inside the room. Stops pulses if room is entered.
•Prep patient room: Bunch shower curtain, expose edges of shower, open & stagger drawers (bottom drawer out all the way, next drawer above it , next drawer , etc.) and cabinets, open tray tables, hang phone, call buttons and remote from IV pole, unroll Blood pressure cuffs, place bedrails in up position, bed is unmade, lift toilet seat.
•Make sure no people are in the room and position the robot in the restroom first, close the door and run the robot for one 5 minute cycle. Continue room prep during restroom cycle. After restroom is completed, position robot in two more locations in the patient room (according to room guide, device placement protocol) and run 5 minute cycles for each location
•Touch screen on robot, enter user ID and password, enter room number, enter room state, enter disinfection time, power on robot and press continue. Push flashing "start" button located next to the touch screen. Exit room within 15 seconds.
•Wait for the green light on the orange cone outside the room before entering this indicates disinfection process is completed.
•Enter patient room to reposition the robot to the 3rd location on opposite side of bed. Turn over (flip items) phone, remote control, call buttons, etc. and slide out over the bed table and run the robot, exit room within 15 seconds.
•Wait for the green light on the orange cone before entering, go in unplug and replace all items to the robot, tethered motion detector, orange cone, and caution sign on door. Notify EVS room is completed (call the EVS department from room phone) and move on to the next room.
•Perform Disinfection Process in other assigned areas following robot operating procedures. Follow room guide for device placement protocol:
