Responsible for the engineering department by providing oversight in development, maintenance and utilization of established design practices, quality standards and departmental procedures as per corporate policies; responsible for assigning projects/orders/quotes to engineers and supporting staff based on experience and capabilities, and supervising execution as per established procedures and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s); improving overall efficiency of the department by applying principles of lean manufacturing and ensuring timely completion of orders; ensuring fulfilment of customer requirements by utilizing 2D/3D design practices for mechanical/hydraulic power presses; manage the implementation of applicable engineering standards per customer requirement and local/national safety standards set by OSHA, ANSI and CSA; monitoring department absorption by overseeing expenses and utilization of the department monthly; provide insights for job costing, quotation, manufacturing, field service and quality procedures; utilize SAGE ERP system, 3D CAD modelling, Solidworks, AutoCAD, GD&T, BOMs, 3D CAD design principles, and metal stamping presses, automation and machine controls to perform duties; and coordinate with other departments such as Quality, Purchasing and Sales for disposition of Non-Conforming Material (NCM), warranty, Corrective Action Required (CAR) issues.

Salary: $86,174 per year
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: One (1) year in the position above, as a Mechanical Design Engineer, as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, as a Graduate Assistant, as a Product Development Intern, as an Instructor, or in a related occupation;
Will accept one (1) year work experience gained during completion of graduate-level academic studies, internship and/or co-op.
