JOB DESCRIPTION: Floor Care Technician, 3rd Shift
LOCATION: Gerald R. Ford Airport
JOB SUMMARY
Position requires experience in operating all equipment used in commercial cleaning, to include; burnishing and buffing terrazzo floors, Kaivacs, carpet cleaning equipment, ride-on or walk behind equipment. Must be able to maintain equipment and conduct minor repairs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Able to take direction and follow through with assignments
- Must be able to safely operate all equipment associated with cleaning
- Good understanding how to maintain different types carpet and hard surface flooring
- Willingness to train others in the proper use of equipment and ability to maintain equipment
- Promote and exhibit Company culture and values
- Willingness to travel to multiple accounts
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Adhere to all applicable safety practices
- Other duties as assigned by management
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED. Will consider experience in lieu of educational requirements
- 1 plus years of experience in janitorial services with training in floor care, power washing, etc.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment
- Good communication skills and ability to read and write English
- Valid Driver’s License preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check due to this being in a federal building
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking and kneeling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Operate floor care machinery for long periods of time
