GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Behavior Technician will report to the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst at Beaumont's Center for Exceptional Families. The Behavior Technician shall be responsible for implementing behavior analytic interventions for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works collaboratively with Center for Exceptional Families' staff, patients and patients' families in order to provide behavior analytic services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, under the direction and supervision of the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
Implements interventions to reduce problem behavior under the direction of Board Certified Behavior Analyst and/or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
Collects data as directed by Board Certified Behavior Analyst and/or Board Certified Assistant Behavior analyst that can be used to determine effectiveness of interventions to decrease problem behavior.
Implements behavior analytic (focused or comprehensive) instruction program to teach skills, under the direction of Board Certified Behavior Analyst and/or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
Collects skill acquisition data necessary to determine effectiveness of intervention program as directed by Board Certified Behavior Analyst and/or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
Maintains appropriate documentation of assessment and treatment to meet hospital and insurance billing guidelines.
Adheres to all ethical guidelines outlined by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board.
Participates in regular ongoing curriculum meetings with BCBA and families as primary Behavior Technician.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
* Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED.
* Preferred experience in childcare or work with children with special needs, mental health related experience or education, interest or class work in Allied Health Degrees.
* Candidate must be certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Registered Behavior Technician, currently enrolled in Registered Behavior Technician training, or commitment to complete Registered Behavior Technician training at the Beaumont Exceptional Families Autism Center and obtain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician.
* Basic understanding of principals of behavior analysis preferred.
* Exposure to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities preferred.
* Ability to model intervention for trainees and patients' family members.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to collect data.
* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification preferred and required within six months of start date.
