The Iron County Medical Care Facility (ICMCF) seeks a Risk Manager to join their team in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
The ideal person for this position is a knowledgeable leader in healthcare performance. This position is responsible for the implementation and management of the facility Risk Management Program and will lead the ICMCF team in managing risk and liability throughout the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Develop and implement appropriate policies, procedures, education and training that meet the risk objectives of the facility.
- Manage potential risks and liabilities, incidents, concerns and complaints; guide employees in safe work practices and improve resident care; develop methods to administer/evaluate policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Track trends, collect data, and prepare summary reporting on resident events, employee incidents, complaints, grievances, variances and concerns.
- Oversees the Respiratory Protection Plan (conducts fit-testing of staff, assists with Covid-19 testing).
- Performs various compliance tasks such as safety rounds of facility, ensures resident care plans are followed, medical records are documented appropriately, equipment is operating as expected, etc.
- Actively participates in meetings and committees related to risk management.
- Assist with facility surveys and data collection as needed.
COMPENSATION. $58,600 – $66,750 annually based on knowledge and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to be successful in this position, or Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Previous management experience in a hospital, skilled nursing or other related medical facility preferred; preference given to candidates with a background in risk management and performance improvement.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust and competence amongst co-workers and residents.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks.
