Position Summary
The individual will oversee and coordinate all research associated with FIFA WC 2026 project. Including conducting laboratory/ field operations in order to meet national standards and maintain grant funding. Perform experimental tests and records and analyzes results in order to provide conclusive data for the research projects.
Will establish, maintain, and manage research studies on turfgrass systems inside simulator stadium on HTRC. Individual will be responsible for data collection and analyses of all projects. Maintaining materials, methods and records of experimental procedures and evaluations of data accumulated. Perform all associated field work. Researches current literature in order to determine the most economical, efficient and productive research methods
Will cooperate with similar ongoing project at University Tennessee-Knoxville.
They will also conduct similar studies at Turf Producer Farm in North Carolina.
They will be expected to supervise and review undergraduate students as part of labor force for turf management. They will assist and manage graduate student projects in the simulator stadium.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in the specific field of research employment or related science field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in overseeing research projects and laboratory operations, operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment, performing specialized and difficult analytical and research techniques, and designing research experiments in an area related to research being performed; may require software specific to the area of research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position may require special licensing or certification in the field related to the area of employment.
Desired Qualifications
Masters Degree of Science in turfgrass or related field
Experience in conducting turfgrass scientific experiments
Experience managing and supervising employees
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience in scientific writing and communication of results to scientific community.
