General Summary:
The staff Physical Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures. He/she assumes responsibility/accountability for patients being treated by physical therapy support staff.
Essential Duties:
- Develops and implements an appropriate treatment plan for each patient.
- Serves as a resource of information and treatment skill for less knowledgeable staff, provide student supervision as needed.
- Supervises assigned support staff. Collaborates with intra and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care.
- Collaborates with patient, family, significant other in treatment and in discharge planning.
- Provides written documentation to the physician regarding the patient initially, at discharge, and at appropriate intervals.
Standard Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program. Preferred: Master's or Doctorate Degree
Licensure/Certifications: Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan. Current Basic Life Support/CPR Card
