Dematic is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with demonstrated knowledge of a broad field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully apply a complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialization to gain familiarity of Dematics current products and engineering processes.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of controls: From electrical/hardware drawing, PLC programming, troubleshooting and commissioning.
Mentor junior-level engineers on the team
Travel up to 60% is possible. This includes weekend work with potential overtime.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
At least 5 years' experience in controls/electrical engineering
Hands-on experience with Programmable Controllers
Understanding of design, layout and use of current networks such as Devicenet, Profibus, ASi, Ethernet.
Experience with the rigors of on-site startup/commissioning.
Capability to develop and/or follow a project plan knowing the importance of setting and meeting milestone dates.
Electrical/Hardware design experience
Experience in writing descriptions of operations and development of controls based physical layouts is expected.
Ability to determine requirements from customers while selling our ideas.
Ability to reliably forecast and report on the status of proposals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in the latest AB Logix or Schneider Electric (Modicon) is preferred.
Experience with material handling systems is a plus.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage numerous opportunities and deadlines.
