- Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled nursing services, functions, or tasks under the delegation and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Essential Functions:
- Observe patients, documenting and reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action
- Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
- Supervise nurses' aides or assistants.
- Assemble and use equipment, such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.
- Administer prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.
- Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
- Basic computer and Microsoft outlook knowledge.
- Oral and written comprehension and expression skills required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- License(s): Successful completion of an accredited LPN program; currently licensed by the State of Michigan as an LPN.
- Experience: 6 months in a long term care facility (preferred) New Grads Welcome! Position Hours: A and B shift 12 hr. 6:30pm-7am/ 6:30am-7pm
- Job Type: Full-time and Part-time positions available.
