Job Description Position Summary:
This position supports the U.S. Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center Electronic Defeat Branch. We are looking for an entry level or journeyman level engineer with a mechanical or electrical engineering background (other engineering degrees will be considered). This position will replace a retiring soft kill expert, learning the mechanics of electronic defeat of threats to ground vehicle systems, while working on one or multiple Science & Technology programs. Duties may include program planning, system design, test planning and execution, and report generation.
Responsibilities include:
- Apply engineering principles throughout the detect-to-engage cycle of performing electronic soft kill of enemy weapons and weapons systems
- Electromagnetically deconflict soft kill systems with hard kill systems and communications systems on the same or different vehicles
- Develop and execute test plans to evaluate the performance of soft kill systems
- Write test plans, perform analysis of test results, write and brief test reports to senior Army leadership
Qualifications:
- The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a SECRET clearance.
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience. Degree must be in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline.
- In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
