Clinical Application Analyst I
Position Summary
Optimizes and maximizes the usage of clinical applications, primarily those that enhance the functionality of electronic health records. Integrates systems to create solutions that provide the highest value to stakeholders, clinicians, providers, and patients. Engages in IT project activities including systems analysis, requirements gathering, design, configuration, customization, testing, maintenance and documentation. Assists with planning and implementation of a variety of current and future clinical information systems. Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operation of clinical information systems and applying high degree of competence, knowledge and creativity to resolving major problems. Evaluates system performance and investigates alternatives as necessary. Member of the information technology team responsible for the analysis, recommendation, preparation, implementation, and training of clinical information systems. Responsible for meeting expected project implementation deadlines, including training as it pertains to Athena and other EMR systems.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the following technologies:
- EHR Applications
- Lab Information Systems
- HTML, HTML5
Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly delivery systems, and business-related processes, technology and practices, functions and architectures
Formal training and experience in athena clinicals, collector and communicator
Implementation of large, complex information system projects
Experience providing customer and computer support
