The ideal candidate has:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of prior experience in Communications and 5 years in a leadership role such as Communications Director or equivalent.
- A strong track record as an implementer, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, assignments, and initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and coach others effectively, persuasively, and tactfully.
- Ability to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives with measurable results.
- Wants to be part of a dynamic leadership team to help build and revitalize SME and our communities. Humble, hungry, flexible, and resilient.
- Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
- Advanced writing, editing, and presentations skills.
- Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and various design programs.
- Ability to travel as needed throughout the Great Lakes Region
