Job Description
The
Automation Engineer
will be based in
Coopersville, MI
. This is a 2nd shift position, hours are 3-11pm, Monday - Friday. In this role you will be supporting the automated production lines for various products within the automotive industry at the PLC programming level.

Here is a glimpse of what youll do:
Design and engineer moderately complex automation equipment, tooling and applications.
Participate in design reviews.
Implement cost effective automation.
Provide status reports as per established schedule.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment
Support day to day manufacturing of Automotive components on highly automated assembly lines
Identify bugs in PLC automation that impact throughput, yield, and quality
Show excellent teamwork, while collaborating with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow
Give clear and concise communication between team members and across shifts to keep team members informed
Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment
Here is some of what youll need (required):
PLC programming experience
B.S. Engineering degree, EE or other
Great communication and people skills
Proficient in MS office

Machining skills: CNC, lathe etc
Automotive industry experience
Understanding of FEMAs, control plans and work instructions
Experience with programing and operating Articulated Robots
