Demand Creation:
- Identify the needs of the customer early in their design cycle
- Deep digging for applications to lead to business development opportunities and technical development.
- Gather all information needed to make the design input available as complete as possible.
- Work out, prepare and present TE proposals (product selection, design solutions and project objectives)
- Understand the customer's strategy and technology roadmap, the competition, and trends and apply this knowledge to bring TE solutions.
- Gain, correctly interpret and apply to customer information, internal data and research results (markets, competition, technology roadmaps, trends)
- Influence solutions and RFQ. Technical linkage between customer location and remote TE sites
- Support development, testing, evaluation of TE products within customer applications
Project Management:
- Interface between the TE Engineering design team and the customer to ensure that both sides understand the requirements and have all needed information available
- Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved TE internal departments (account manager, engineering, production, project management, marketing, etc.)
- Ensure on time customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activities
- Provide regular project status updates to the involved parties, especially the Account Manager
- Customer Relationship and Support:
- Continuously caring for a good trusting relationship between the customer and TE
- Stay in permanent contact with the customer and report project status and feedback
- Attend project meetings and conduct regular customer calls and presentations
- Do problem solving and assessing technical complaints
- Support quality teams in solving problems with TE products with on-site evaluation and detailed discussion with customers
- Provide technical consultancy and advice
- Develop product design requirements with tie off with customers and TE teams
Key Goals & Objectives:
- New Project Pipeline identification and conversion
- New Product Stream development, implementation in current and new platforms
- Drive Extraordinary Customer Experience - Exceed customer expectations
- Teaming with other Field Engineers, Development Engineers and Product Managers to drive content per unit
What your background should look like:
- Must have at minimum a bachelor's of engineering degree- electronics / electrical with mechanical aptitude preferred
- Minimum one to three years professional level engineering experience or present technical proven interest and capabilities
- Must have demonstrated successful understanding and some level of experience in project management
- Understanding of Core Business Acumen
- Previous experience in technical sales desired and/or Appliance industry experience
- Develop a deep and broad knowledge of the Tyco Electronics' technology and product portfolio and the markets they serve
- Core understanding of stamping, molding, plating, assembly processes
- Ability to gain the relevant market standards and key product design requirements
- Proven ability to understand and work out complex technical solutions with current and new products and technologies
- Capability of creative, analytical and structured thinking with the ability to execute on priorities
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside TE and at customers)
- Strong project management skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent track record of meeting and exceeding targets
- Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities in line while impacting TE product roadmaps and customer platforms
