Job Description
The
Quality Technician
will be based in
Coopersville
. Responsible for performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs, first article inspections, inspecting layouts, out of box audit (OBA) and sampling and testing of components and raw materials. Ensures process and finished products meet company standards. Individual is responsible for containing and handling of non-conforming material, working in a team environment with Quality Engineer, Engineering and shift supervisor.

Here is a glimpse of what youll do
Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. (Product Realization Audit, Finished Goods Audit)
Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to determine quality and reliability standards.
Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Audit processes primarily in the manufacturing areas and checks for a variety of features, including handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity. Proper storage of documentation.
Audits products at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.
Records audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports.
Analyzes engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.
Performs out of box audits (OBA) as required
Provides factory support to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials and manufacturing.
Work within plant Quality System for Work instructions, record forms, Quality Alerts, special and deviations to established process instructions
Here is some of what youll need (required)
Demonstrates technical skills.
Requires basic competency related to function.
Demonstrates basic functional and/or process knowledge and participates in process.
Requires the ability to utilize charts, tables and specifications, and operate a variety of measuring instruments.
Basic understanding of typical quality tools, such as 8d, statistical process control, FEMA and control plans. ISO Auditing experience a plus.
Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation package.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
