Acara solutions is looking for CAD Designer for our Client located in Muskegon, MI
- Primary job function is to create CAD models and drawings of CPS product components, Assemblies, and Fixtures to support Product & Manufacturing Engineering.
- Create, Modify and Maintain designs in Pro-Engineer Creo 2 and other CAD tools
- Develop/support transmission, engine, and power pack control systems design concepts
- Develop mechanical/electromechanical/pneumatic control systems designs.
- Prepare new designs consistent with planned analysis tools
- Support engine, transmission and power pack control system components procurement, assembly / test, and production
- Write engineering change notices, participate in Material Release Board, process Engineering Change Proposals, follow engineering drawing and specification revisions, work in an Integrated Product Team environment.
- Assist with development of design/performance specifications for internal departments and suppliers
- Support engine, transmission, power pack and propulsion system related proposals (internal and external RFQ"s)
- Integrate engine, transmission, power pack and subsystems (controls and electrical) into military vehicles.
- Recommend, plan and implement component or system product improvements
- Coordinate design models and development programs with functional departments and integrated product teams (Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer).
- Present design models and supporting analyses to L-3 CPS and customer representatives, and close-out questions on the design.
Pay and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $35.00 and $45.00 per hour (Pay rate).
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 10 years" experience in CAD Designer with automotive component and systems design.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering; will consider experience in lieu of degree.
- Must be qualified using Pro-Engineer Creo 2 design and associated modeling tools. Casting knowledge required.
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of GD&T, MBE/MBD, Fundamental drafting practices and import/export of CAD data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to work well with suppliers, customers, and Government representatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Previously held security clearance preferred. Ability to get security clearance required
- Must be able to move freely, with or without reasonable accommodation, throughout the manufacturing environment.
