A Psychological First Aid (PFA) Interventionist, under general supervision of the Clinical Services Supervisor, provides interventions in accordance with the evidence based practice of Psychological First Aid to support consumers who call HealthWest Warm/helpline.  The interventionist primary work is with consumers who access the warm/helpline on a daily basis; these consumers could have a mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders.  Interventionist would also work with general community members and their family answer questions about HealthWest services and/or connecting them to resources to address the reason why they access the warm/helpline.  Services provided are over the phone and would utilize approaches linked to best practice models.  A PFA Interventionist needs to have the ability to work quickly utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills to address consumers need. De-escalation skills, managing crisis situations and ability to triage needs to appropriate resources are essential for this position. A PFA Interventionist is customer service focused and has the ability to concurrently document all calls/needs while the information is being collected over the phone. The potential for evening and weekend shift coverage could be a possibility for this position.
