The at Jude Children's Research Hospital is recruiting a Faculty Member at the FULL, ASSOCIATE or ASSISTANT level as we expand our intervention work to prevent, remediate or ameliorate the physiological and functional consequences of cancer and cancer treatment. We are seeking a creative and collaborative scientist with a vibrant research program to work with a team in a clinical laboratory focused on understanding human performance, movement, and physical well-being in children with cancer and cancer survivors.
Our research uses state-of-art approaches to document adverse outcomes and to design interventions optimize health. Our Department and associated Cancer Center Programs include a diverse team of investigators with expertise in epidemiology, oncology, psychology, neuropsychology, exercise science, rehabilitation, nursing, health behavior, neurology, cardiology, genetics, computational biology, and biostatistics. We regularly collaborate across Cancer Center Programs, engaging with laboratory-based researchers to understand the biological mechanisms responsible for the late effects of childhood cancer and its treatment. Our Department is home to both the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study with over 30,000 childhood cancer survivor participants diagnosed from 1970-1999 in North America, and the St. Jude Lifetime Cohort Study, with over 6000 clinically assessed childhood cancer survivors treated at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital between 1962 and 2012. These foundational studies are funded by the National Cancer Institute and are unparalleled resources for research.
