Responsibilities
Dematic is in need of an experienced Technical Writer to write and create technical documentation for the Installation group. A great candidate will have some background in logistics and engineering, with typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a similar or related field to technical writing.
Job Responsibilities:
Writes, edits and maintains complex technical documentation, including user manuals, job aids, installation instructions, technical instructions/bulletins, and other technical publications from document plans and style guides.
Develops on-line help screens for company products.
Researches technical and engineering information, including drawings, design and test specifications, product prototypes, and interviews with subject matter experts.
Completes all phases of document development cycle, including project scope and requirements, documentation design, etc.
May develop, recommend and implement technical documentation process and policy changes.
Performs full range of standard work for the professional field.
Refers complex, unusual problems to others.
Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff.
