Summary of Function:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive facilities and grounds maintenance program. This role must understand plant electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems while providing hands-on resolution of issues. Responsible for scheduling and interacting with all of Medbio’s building and grounds support companies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Embraces and advances Medbio’s Mission, Vision and Values while fostering a team-first, positive culture
- Diagnose and repair problems with any of Medbio LLC and Concept Tools buildings, grounds and infrastructure.
- Work closely with other Maintenance Department employees in the installation of new equipment.
- Perform all building maintenance-related work that does not require a contractor, i.e. light ballast replacement, air filter replacement, painting, minor building repairs, etc.
- Works closely with the Medbio Safety Officer in supporting and creating a safe work environment.
- Maintain and manage the spare parts needed for Medbio, LLCs operations, buildings and grounds.
- Lead any expansion or new building projects for Medbio and its member companies
- Reviews and researches possible government grants to implement facility upgrades (i.e. LED lighting, alternative power use schedules, etc.).
Organizational Relationships:
The Facilities Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Engineering. Supervisors, Management, and Technical staff can look to the Facilities Supervisor for clear resolution and direction on facility and utilities issues and concerns.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience managing and maintaining manufacturing facilities (clean room and injection molding a plus).
- Extensive understanding of and experience with plumbing, electrical, pneumatic and HVAC schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues.
- Industrial electrical background is a plus
- Experience with industry standard safety rules and guidelines as stated in various safety-related training programs, including but not limited to: lockout/tag out, electrical code safe practices and confined space entry programs
- Experience with building and injection molding support systems (HVAC, central cooling water, Motan/vacuum,
- General understanding of injection molding, molded parts and injection mold tools a plus
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work a standard 40 hour work week with occasional overtime including weekends a possibility. Must be able to see with our without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences and depth perception for product and safety issues. Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 100 feet. The ability to life and carry various items up to 70 pounds.
