Positions Location: Lansing, MI General Purpose of Job: Plan, organize and manage MRI services at multiple locations within the Health System. Establish policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of MRI services. Mentor staff technologists. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. - Develop goals and objectives, establish and implement policies and procedures for department operation. Assure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Select, train, assign and orient staff. Develop standards of performance and evaluate personnel on same.
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of MRI technologists and work flow processes.
- Recommend department operating, capital equipment budget, evaluate and justify equipment and supply needs as required.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance records.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as required.
- Maintain department facilities, equipment and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.
- Conduct departmental staff meetings.
- Establish and maintain safety, infection and environmental control policies for the department.Serves as the MRI Safety Officer and is responsible for assuring a safe environment for patients, Caregivers and equipment.
General Requirements | • Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI. • Must be CPR certified. Minimum of AHA Heart Saver certification or BLS required. | Work Experience | • Minimum of two years leadership experience as a supervisor. | Education | • Associates Degree in Radiologic Sciences • Preferred - Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration | Specialized Knowledge and Skills | • Demonstrated knowledge of computer database and RIS. • Demonstrated ability of annual goal setting and achievement of same that enhances the department operation. • Adept with customer service. • Ability to problem solve and multi-task. • Ability to coach and mentor others. • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
