Education
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus formal training leading to journeyman status as Millwright, Machinist or Tool Makerand/or equivalent on the job experience
Experience
Five to Seven years of experience or equivalent experience, education and on the job training
Skills
Strong mechanical ability
Equipment troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of ISO/TS16949
Ability to operate computers; manual and electronic micrometers, calipers and gages; grease guns; hardness testers; grinding machines; manual mills, lathes, drill presses; punch presses; shadowgraph optical comparators; cranes and hoists
Knowledge of cutting, turning, milling, grinding, hardness testing, tool steel composition, time studies, electric and tig welding, assembly techniques, and blueprint reading
Knowledge of calculating speeds and feeds; performing machine offsets; machine setup; tool and/or tooling selection; tool sharpening; fixture building; and heat-treating
Knowledge of Assembly Equipment
Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees
Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required
Licensure
Valid driver’s license, and journeyman status or accredited certificate required.
Safety
Safety glasses required. Other safety equipment required on an as needed basis.

Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of an office setting and manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands
Working environment and physical requirements of this position are those typical of a manufacturing environment. Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant, including second story areas. Must be able to identify colors for purposes of executing machine and equipment repairs. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required.
