SUMMARY: The Volunteer Services Coordinator shall oversee the volunteer services activities throughout Mary Free Bed. Provide a rewarding experience that is beneficial to the volunteers, employees, patients, and visitors. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Coordinate and continue to grow the Volunteer Services program * Recruits, interviews, and orients new volunteers. Assigns volunteers to temporary and/or ongoing positions within the hospital. * Align student volunteers with the proper department to assure the greatest utilization of volunteers is achieved. * Works with departments to create new volunteer positions, developing appropriate volunteer service descriptions. * Work with department leaders to review current volunteer positions, seeking innovative ways to enhance the services to the department and provide a rewarding experience for the volunteer. * Develop creative recruiting plans for hard-to-fill volunteer positions. Recruit for volunteer positions in a manner to ensure the volunteer applicant pool is equally representative of the community, including gender, ethnicity, age, race, color, national origin, veteran status, and other legally protected status. * Encourages and assists department liaisons with the development of volunteer training for positions within their department. * Monitors the ongoing satisfaction with and effective utilization of volunteer placements. Collects feedback from staff and helps to resolve problems or dissatisfaction between the volunteer and department liaison. * Collect feedback from the volunteers to promote program growth and provide opportunities for improvements in the volunteer program. * Contributing member of the MFB Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC). Provide support with recruiting, interviewing, training, and onboarding of new members. * Maintains volunteer files, applications, references, TB tests and quarterly hours. * Maintain database and provide administrative duties as required. * Organizes the Volunteer Recognition Event, including Volunteer of the Year and Student Volunteer of the Year judging and selection. * Review and revise volunteer policies and practices as needed. * Provide assistance as needed, in all areas of HR including answering phone lines, greeting guests, and triaging requests for information. * Perform similar and related job duties as requested by HR Leadership. * Responsible for special projects as assigned. * Coordinates, develops and maintains Human Resources and Volunteer Services intranet pages. * Provides support for the annual Minority and Disability Scholarship program. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS): * Experience in Volunteer Services, Human Resources, or similar field OTHER PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: * 1-3 years experience in Volunteer Services * Exposure with: * volunteer staffing/recruitment * volunteer/employee relations Mary Free Bed is an equal opportunity employer.
