Located in our Rochester Hills office, you will be working hands-on with our engineering customers in the field and helping design products that fit into their applications! * You ll be working with the Industrial Product Application Engineering team and reporting to the Product Application Team Manager. * This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will be working with customers on a variety of product applications like ATV s, sports cars, washing machines and the list goes on! * You will help troubleshoot issues that arise with customer products and help design and recommend solutions using Gates products. Key responsibilities (to name a few): * Providing engineering service to customers and clients in the proper application and selection power transmission products * Working cooperatively with North American Field Sales, Product Line Managers, and the Marketing Team to achieve organizational success * Analyzing application requirements, providing failure analysis, selecting components and making recommendations to meet system requirements * Troubleshooting any questions customers pose via phone, email and in-person. Building strong relationships is crucial to success in this role! Job Requirements ABOUT YOU * Bachelor s Degree plus 1+ years of progressive engineering experience OR 4-5 years of progressive engineering experience, required. * Eager to be hands on working with our customers, engineers, sales and marketing teams! * Engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanical and Fluid Power systems, preferred. * Excellent problem-solving skills. * Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer personalities effectively. * Excellent written and verbal skills coupled with the ability to maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles. * Ability to travel to customers, plants and conferences as required (10 to 50%). (This will resume pending current COVID-19 safety regulations) * Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines. * Power Transmission experience, preferred * Proficient in Excel * Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
