Bunting Bearings, LLC., is hiring for a Furnance Operator at its Kalamazoo, MI operation.
Successful candidate will load, run and operate furnaces to ensure safety, productivity and quality. Must be reliable and able to with great attention to detail while maintaining a productive and clean work environment. Training will consist of working alongside full time employees to learn the product and process.
Being a team player and willingness to learn new things and change jobs as priorities and equipment availability change in a low volume, high mix environment is paramount.
Responsibilities include:
- Load, unload and operate furnaces at established competitive rates
- Monitor part size, weight, and surface condition
- Ensure furnace operates without interruption while maintaining product quality
- Complete all documents as required
- Maintain furnac elogs and records for job traceability and product requirements
- Clean work area at end of shift
- Any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Demonstrated mechanical ability through previous work history, may or may not be in manufacturing
- Comfortable with higher temperature processes and adjusting parameters in a controlled way to produce conforming product
- Able to learn and use micrometers, weigh scales and calipers
- Ability to speak, read and write in English and complete production documents as required
- Proficient in blueprint reading
- High attention to detail
- Physical stamina to operate and tend multiple presses
