Summary: The Assembly Technician's primary role is to build, assemble, test, validate, tear down, diagnose and repair any Skytron medical equipment of moderate complexity within the designated work area. This includes, but is not limited to: electrical wiring, hydraulics, gases and programming. The Assembly Technician must be able to read and interpret detailed work instructions, prints, drawings, and any instructions provided by Product Management or Production Planning. With minimal supervision, this individual must be able to conform to excellent work quality in the timeframes established. The Assembly Technician is responsible for providing input and suggestions for improvement, safety compliance, and operational efficiencies. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations & Quality Assurance.
Essential Functions
- Assembles, programs, tests and validates equipment according to customer specifications, utilizing the appropriate documents for the assignment. Documents may include work or shop orders, bills of material, drawings/prints, work instructions, and any other information provided.
- Packages, labels, and moves completed equipment to the appropriate shipment area.
- Repairs all assigned Skytron equipment, following the appropriate repair process. Product is to be brought back to saleable condition. This includes but is not limited to: repair of lights, tables, booms, monitors, Skyvision, UVC, warmers, washers and any new products.
- Completes all necessary paperwork for project completion in an accurate and thorough manner. Files all paperwork in the appropriate, designated area.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, in accordance to task sheet assignments.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement projects and events, freely sharing ideas for improvement.
- Cross trains in all areas of the Boom department, demonstrating a willingness to help and train in areas additional work areas when instructed.

Education/Experience
- HS Diploma or equivalent, with ambition to further education relevant to job demands.
- Some experience with light mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics is desirable.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, prints and multi-meters.
- Ability to learn various testing equipment.
Skills
- Knowledge of Outlook and ERP Systems is essential.
- Ability to obtain a hi lo and picker license.
Physical Requirements
- Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs of force constantly to move objects.
