Strategic Finance Data Analyst - KPIIn this critical role with AlixPartners’ Key Performance Indicators (KPI) team you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and ongoing management of KPI in support of our global strategy. This role will play a key part in the overall execution of the of the KPI initiative and KPI deliverables. You will take ownership of small projects and work with team members to deliver solutions that meet customer needs by designing, building, and maintaining operational and financial dashboards. The ideal candidate will have good working proficiency with leading visualization tools including Tableau and/or Power BI along with strong skills in using data manipulation tools including SQL Server, Access, etc. and have a desire to further develop their expertise with these tools. After KPI project, incumbent would likely (re)join the finance, business analytics center of excellence or another similar team in a similar role supporting the growth and development of the business.
Known internally as Strategic Finance Senior Data Analyst - KPI, this is a full-time role located in Southfield, MI, reporting to the KPI Project Manager and will be part of the Finance organization. Paid relocation is not available.

Key Responsibilities:- Translate business unit requirements into clear, accurate and concise functional requirements. Create models, specifications, diagrams and charts to be used by the Data Insight & Analytics team in developing BI and Data Warehouse solutions.
- Collaborate with the Data Insight & Analytics team and other IT resources throughout the development lifecycle; enforcing and redefining requirements where necessary.
- Investigate and troubleshoot problems. Collaborate with business units to determine root cause and appropriate functional solutions. Interact with the Data Insight & Analytics development team in the implementation of the solution and communicating with business units as required.
- Design, build, and code operational and financial dashboards and visualizations to support ongoing improvement of business operations and strategy.
- Work with a team of financial analysts to conduct data validation and verification for KPI reporting to ensure data and data access integrity

Qualifications/Requirements:- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required; business, finance, operations management, or a related field highly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business analysis and/or software engineering with a successful track record in gathering requirements and developing and deploying BI solutions.
- Prior experience with financial or operational data analysis and visualization; Consulting, professional services firm or organization experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of or prior experience working with relational databases, data models, SQL Server databases and SQL scripting.
- Solid understanding and proven experience in requirements definition techniques including business process, use case, workflow and data modelling.
- Experience with data warehouse concepts, checking and validating results to ensure completeness, and troubleshooting non-recurring and process related problems.
- Experience in designing and building sophisticated dashboards and KPIs in commonly used visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact independently with diverse stakeholders, and gain support and alignment.
- High energy business style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently on complex assignments, manage ambiguity, and have a proven track record of meeting targets and deadlines under pressure.
- Resourcefulness and creativity in identifying process improvements and finding ways to capture or extract data needed by others and present or modify it according to their requirements
- Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the business, over time, and find new ways to enhance the value brought to the organization
- Highly skilled with using the most common MS Office tools, particularly with MS Excel
- Prior project management experience, training, or relevant certification is preferred but not required
- Available to be on-call after normal business hours to handle special/urgent situations.

- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
