Introduction The product development intern will assist in coordination of product design activities with a focus on project coordination. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Application engineering positions support the product development team and the customer. The Application Engineer is the voice of the customer and primary liaison between customer and all company activities (primary point of contact for customer technical, project management and development activities). Typical Duties: * Establish and maintain a good and effective Customer relationship: * Liaison between customer-Visteon PD * Assist customer in areas related to Visteon products. * Identify and provide reliable solutions through all stages of the product development. * Present and explain information in a clear manner to Customer. * Maintain accurate documentation and provide updates of open items list. * Understand and convey Customer's design requirements and specifications to the PD team. * Attend / coordinate all Customer meetings as required (PAT, Design Reviews, TDR's, Software Reviews, etc) * Develop a working knowledge of the product line and vehicle line to be able to support the customer needs. * Coordination of system modules and set-up for Visteon SW and Validation. * Support the Customer with vehicle level testing (in vehicle and breadboard). * Prepare deliverables such as test plans, guides, manuals in coordination with Requirements and SW team. * Perform vehicle/product troubleshooting. * Engineering Interface * Participate in Visteon PD team meetings * Support change control process for Customer requested changes (DCR's) as required. * Quality * Ensure closure of all Customer issues (AIMs, etc.) via their system in the time required. * The qualified applicant for this role will possess the following attributes: DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree - Engineering; Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Science DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE: * Demonstrated ability to work with electronic, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering concepts. * Experienced with vehicle communication systems (CAN, LIN) * Familiar with electronics, schematic development, ECAD, PWB manufacturing, environmental concerns * Familiar with mechanical design, MCAD, mechanical durability, thermal properties, illumination techniques, decorative plastics, injection molding, mechanical assembly… * Able to manage cross discipline engineering issue resolution using common quality tools in problem analysis and resolution. * Able to communicate clearly using written and verbal communication. * Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, tasks, and issues simultaneously * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. * Local and international travel may be required. * Occasional overtime, after hours/weekends, may be necessary More Good Reasons to Work for Visteon Focusing on the Future Our company strategy focuses on emerging areas of the automotive industry, including autonomous vehicles.
