Sr. System Support Technician
in Columbia SC.

Location: Columbia, SC
Contractors may onboard and start remotely amid COVID-19. The Hiring Manager advised he will review based on performance and need on a case by case basis if contractor will need to come on-site after COVID-19 work from home is lifted. He will look at remote workers then.
Position Summary:
Works as part of a team to support and analyze production system problems and recommend workable solutions.
Required Work Experience/Skills & Abilities:
- 1 year of technical experience with systems analysis, design, and/or of programming experience or other job related IT experience or successful completion of BCBS Entry Level Training Program.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant operating systems especially Windows, middleware technologies like Application Servers, programming languages, and their usage in the company.
- In-depth understanding of the requirements for maintaining production systems and the effects of program changes.
- Comprehensive understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a middleware, Application Servers and/or PC/LAN environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Experience supporting Claims Processing Applications
- Familiarity with standard office equipment.
- Experience running Crystal Reports.
- Experience responding to Audit queries and providing Audit data
Preferred Work Experience/Skills & Abilities:
- Windows .NET experience to manage application deployments and support related Production Issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues for Web Applications and provide support.
- Knowledge & Understanding of DevOps Tools like Microsoft TFS, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory o Experience deploying windows and .Net based Applications to Application Servers.
- Ability to work in a collaborative DevOps and Agile culture.
Job Description:
30% Perform system support, configurations, scheduling and/or tuning/modification of application products. Make recommendations for technology solutions.
30% Provide basic technical support for system performance concerns. Report abnormal results/issues from production processing. Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects.
20% Assist in system performance monitoring and capacity. May also assist with system analysis activities.
10% Participate in work sessions and walkthroughs for implementations, releases, data conversion projects and/or disaster recovery exercises.
10% Complete administrative tasks such as spreadsheets, logs, management tools checklists and maintaining quality/department documents.
