Job Title: Reliability Technician/Scheduler
Job Summary
The Reliability Technician/Scheduler is responsible for providing planning and scheduling of all Lab Instrument Services maintenance activities. This position will liaise with the maintenance teams and customers to ensure required resources are identified, planned, estimated, organized and scheduled prior to execution for efficient utilization of the maintenance resources. This position will need to work closely with other functions in the business to support business goals. In addition, this individual will have responsibility to ensure applicable business information/work order data is stored and maintained to support business decisions when needed.
Daily purchasing and inventory management of materials, parts and maintenance supplies required for the Facilities and Maintenance Departments. The positions will support the Lab Instrument Services (LIS) maintenance expense budgets in excess of $1M annually. Maintain data and files to track and support inventory of supplies and parts.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists the LIS Manager in various duties
Coordinates the teamwork schedule to ensure the most effective use of team resources and timely completion of all pre-planned and corrective work
Coordinates with client representatives to understand their needs and to ensure the work schedule takes account of the downtime windows negotiated with clients, where necessary
Confers/communicates with work order requesters
Determines and arranges any operational safety requirements for the completion of a WO
Creates and publishes weekly, monthly and quarterly work schedules and makes them available to team members and client representatives
Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
Maintain integrity and tracking of all purchasing requisitions from approval through reconciliation with A/P. Use purchasing system to process to order parts, maintenance supplies, and other materials needed to ensure department needs are met.
In some cases, negotiate and determine best price with vendors relating to any spare parts, materials and maintenance supplies.
Provide quotes on all parts, materials, supplies or items needed to support the business.
Track vendor performance and ongoing service to determine best resources for our department.
Use the maintenance system to maintain tracking and data integrity.
Track and maintain records to support budget controls.
Track and file all information including invoices, payment statements, documentation reflecting all invoices and payments made for our partners and vendors.
Track data and inventory of parts, materials, maintenance supplies and anything needed to support the maintenance and facilities departments.
Act as point of contact for all questions or issues concerning the system.
Send equipment out for repair and calibration as required.
Receive parts for the LIS Department
Maintain documentation for receivables and ensure inventory process integrity.
Accurate documentation is performed for addition or subtraction of assets in the CMMS
Timely documentation and follow up of all quality documents / routings / investigations in the client Quality tracking system
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High school diploma or GED
Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, along with other Software such as a CMMS.
Strong understanding of the equipment and maintenance supplies required in all aspects of the maintenance and facilities department.
Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
Must be able to utilize PPE when necessary.
Must possess the necessary hand and motor skills needed to pull and stock parts.
