GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position maintains mechanical systems, develops and records data, troubleshoots problems and carries out all other assigned duties. Troubleshoots, inspects and maintains electrical and mechanical systems within Beaumont. Performs safety inspections on current and incoming equipment. Orders the parts, tools and supplies necessary to maintain safety and operating standards. Works with Beaumont departments to ensure repairs are completed on a timely basis with minimal inconvenience. Ensures all repair and maintenance documentation conforms with Joint Commission standards. Assists Supervisor, Lead and Healthcare Mechanic 1 as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintains and install pneumatic or DDC controls (Energy Management) on mechanical equipment/systems.
Maintains air filter equipment/systems.
Analyzes, configures, modifies, repairs, and installs industrial, signaling, medical, communication, HVAC DDC/pneumatic controls, data processing, and other electronic equipment systems as required.
Monitors, operates, repairs, replaces, installs, and tests components of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection systems, electrical wiring, circuits, equipment, machinery, appliances and other mechanical systems (i.e., building rounds, Energy Management Systems, hand and power tools).
Starts, stops, and/or regulates mechanical equipment/systems to maintain pressures, temperatures, and flows as required.
Reads and records data from Hospital and Offsite facilities mechanical systems.
Reads, interprets, updates, and records operating and maintenance work orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams and sketches.
Develops, implements, maintains, and administers programs of preventive maintenance and energy management.
Investigates all temperature control problems reported throughout the Hospital/offsite.
Checks for defects in equipment, faulty operations, fire hazards, unsafe working conditions and takes corrective action.
Recommends and advises the replacement of instruments, equipment and mechanical systems.
Determines and maintains a reasonable inventory of replacement parts and accessories.
Carries out normal and emergency operating regulations and practices.
Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment.
Uses tools and equipment appropriately.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates degree in related field preferred
Skilled trade license with related experience would be considered
3-5 years related experience in field
Experience in a healthcare facility preferred
High Pressure Boiler and Third Class Refrigeration License required
